When choosing and shopping for your business cards, you need to pay more attention on the card stock and the weight of the business cards that a certain company is offering you.
Of course, in picking business cards, it should not look cheap. When you hand out your business cards, you do not like to be spending all your money over the whole marketing process.
A lot of printing companies print business cards on flimsy card stock which is at 100 lb or at 10 point. This is considered not a good standard for a business card. This flimsy card stock may be good for business cards, which have only one color, but it will not be good for business cards with full color glossy business cards.
What is important about business cards is that they should look and feel like business cards and not some post-it-note that is set aside and ignored.
At this time, the industry of business cards goes about 12 point for the business card stock. This may seem acceptable but a 14 point is better. 14 point is actually the standard point for a business card postcard stock. They are thicker and perfect for business cards printing.
There are a lot of choices in a business card stock but your search will narrow down only between glossy and matte. You can also make use of plastic, metal, and other kinds of specialty papers but they are just alternatives in case you don’t have matte or glossy paper.
Most professionals prefer to look at the cost effectiveness of the other choices so you can have more options. Glossy paper should be printed with eye-catching designs. This makes your business cards effective. If you can apply UV coating, it would be better and more durable.
Business cards which has UV coating lasts longer than linen, matte, vellum and many others.

There will also be an incredible new 24pt uncoated, eco stock being launched in the next month of December 08. Yes, 24pt. These will be the business cards of all business cards.
